Let’s Padel in Deinze! ⚡

On Thursday, May 15, our sporty sailors once again put on their athletic shoes, as it was time for a good dose of padel fun again!

The location of duty: De Witte Kaproenen in Deinze, where we gathered from 5:30 p.m. for a fun and active padel evening!

With a great turnout, lots of smiling faces and a healthy competitive atmosphere, it was a successful edition. – Everyone gave their best on the field.

But it wasn’t just about winning: the real gain was in playing sports together, cheering each other on and especially having fun. There was also time off the field to catch up, encourage and enjoy the atmosphere.

At Het Veer, we believe that sustainability is not a distant shore, but a course we are already steering today. As the proud crew of our holding company, we know that true sustainable business starts from shared responsibility - from wheelhouse to engine room.

Our crew members are taking the helm into their own hands. Sustainability really lives among our colleagues.

-Getting to work under their own steam
Many people consciously choose to ride their bikes or take public transportation. They brave wind and weather to keep their carbon footprint small.

- Reusable water bottles
No plastic bottles on deck! Our Sailors drink from their reusable bottles - good for the planet as well as the team spirit.

- All out? All out.
After working hours, devices are turned off. No unnecessary waste of energy on board.

Their example is like a lighthouse - it lights the path for others!

Sustainability starts with awareness. That is why we regularly organize inspiring initiatives that make our Sailors think and act:

-Green Communications
From newsletters online or displayed on screens digitally.

-The Positive Wave Crew team 🌊
A group of committed colleagues share ideas, plan actions and keep the green wave rolling.

-Lunch & learn sessions
We dive into topics such as circular thinking, sustainable food and energy-efficient living - short but sweet, during the lunch break.

Our journey does not stop at the next port. We remain ambitious and set course toward a sustainable future with clear goals:

- A carbon-neutral headquarters
- Circular procurement and increased reuse

We do not sail blindly. Every decision, every initiative, every choice counts. And the final destination? That lies in a cleaner future for all.

Padel@ The Veer. Our sailors set sail for the padel court!

On Thursday, May 15, it's that time again - we're going to padel with colleagues again!
After previous successful editions, this time we set sail to a new location: De Witte Kaproenen in Deinze.

Sports together, stronger together

At the Veer, we believe that a strong organization starts with strong teams.
Solidarity, team spirit and a positive working atmosphere are of paramount importance to us. We are convinced that cooperation runs more smoothly and enjoyably when colleagues get to know and appreciate each other outside the workplace.

That's why we enjoy organizing regular sporting and relaxing activities, such as this padel session. Not because we have to, but because we think it is important to create space for informal meetings, spontaneous conversations and above all: shared moments of fun.

So an evening of padel is much more than an hour of sports - it's a chance to laugh together, push boundaries, strengthen bonds and get to know new colleagues in a different way. And that's exactly what we like to encourage at the Veer.

Darts, fun and team spirit at The Veer!

At Het Veer, we believe that a strong team spirit is just as important as expertise. That's why we regularly organize initiatives that bring people together in a light-hearted, connecting way. On May 12, another such moment is planned: our very first SAIL & THROW darts tournament.

What started as a playful idea among colleagues grew into a real tournament where precision, humor and a healthy dose of competition are key. During the lunch break, we transform our refectory into a "bullseye zone," where colleagues compete against each other one-on-one - according to the official dart rules.

But it's not just about winning. The atmosphere, being together and encouraging colleagues make SAIL & THROW more than a competition. Whether you're aiming for the grand prize or just coming to support: everyone contributes to the fun. And for those who haven't mastered aiming? No worries - even there is a (consolation) prize for that!

What's at stake:

  • The honor and title of Master of the Mast

  • Original trophies for the winners

  • ...And perhaps a surprise for the least hit shooters 😉

We look forward to laughing, aiming and making the work atmosphere a little warmer together on May 12. This tournament is more than a game: it is a chance to get to know each other in a different way.

Young talent discovers medium voltage at Deba

On Friday, April 25, 2025, we had a special visit at Deba and SGC: a group of enthusiastic students from @VTI Deinze stopped by for an exciting and educational day.

During their visit, we took them on a discovery tour of our operation. The day began with a tour of our in-house museum, where they could admire the evolution of electrical systems and components. Then they got an exclusive look behind the scenes of our production department, where the technology of tomorrow comes to life.

The highlight? An introduction to the fascinating world of medium-voltage ⚡ - a field in which innovation and safety go hand in hand. Our specialists passionately explained how we work on reliable and sustainable energy solutions.

We would like to warmly thank the students and supervisors of VTI Deinze for their interest, curiosity and eager to learn 🙌. We hope this visit has inspired them to continue building a future in technology.
